1. About these terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Marsden Local website at marsdenlocal.com.au (the “Site”), operated by Pluralstar Pty Ltd (ABN 41 669 590 176) trading under the registered business name “Marsden Local” (“we”, “us”). By using the Site — browsing listings, submitting a business, or contacting us — you agree to these Terms.

2. What Marsden Local is

Marsden Local is an online directory that helps people discover local businesses and services in Marsden Park, NSW and surrounding areas, and the pages of Marsden Local partners. We list businesses; we do not provide, endorse, guarantee, or take responsibility for the goods or services those businesses offer.

3. Business listings

  1. Submission. Anyone may submit a business for listing using the “Add Your Business” form. Submissions are reviewed and must be approved by us before appearing publicly. We may accept, reject, edit (including the listing URL and tags), or remove any listing at our discretion, without notice or reasons.
  2. Accuracy. If you submit a listing you warrant that: (a) you are authorised to represent that business; (b) the details provided (including ABN/ACN, contact details, and address) are true, accurate, and current; and (c) the content and images do not infringe any third party’s rights or any law.
  3. “Verified” badge. The verified indicator means an administrator has reviewed the listing details at the time of approval. It is not an endorsement, licence check, or guarantee of quality.
  4. Keeping it current. You are responsible for telling us (via hello@marsdenlocal.com.au or the contact form) when your business details change. We may remove stale or unreachable listings.
  5. Free listings. Listings are currently free. We may introduce paid features (such as featured placement); if so, separate terms will apply and existing free listings will not be charged without consent. Some businesses are Marsden Local partners under a separate commercial arrangement. Their pages are labelled “Marsden Local partner” and may be located outside Marsden Park.

4. Acceptable use

You must not: submit false, misleading, or deceptive listings; impersonate another person or business; upload unlawful, infringing, offensive, or malicious content; attempt to bypass review, security, or anti-spam measures; scrape or bulk-harvest listing or contact data; or use the Site to send spam.

5. Your content and licence to us

You retain ownership of content you submit (descriptions, logos, photos). You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, resize, and promote that content on the Site and on Marsden Local’s social media channels for the purpose of operating and promoting the directory.

6. Dealings between users and businesses

Any dealings between you and a listed business — quotes, purchases, bookings, workmanship — are solely between you and that business. To the extent permitted by law, we are not a party to and are not liable for those dealings. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

7. Intellectual property

The Site, its design, the Marsden Local name and logos are our property or used with permission. You may not reproduce them (other than sharing links to the Site) without our written consent. Third-party trademarks in listings belong to their owners.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Site available and accurate but provide it “as is” and “as available”. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), we exclude all liability for loss or damage arising from your use of the Site or reliance on listing content, and where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited (at our option) to resupplying the relevant service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Privacy

Our collection and handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Termination

We may suspend or remove listings that breach these Terms. You may request removal of your listing at any time via hello@marsdenlocal.com.au.

12. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If any part of these Terms is invalid, the rest remains in force. We may update these Terms; material changes will be signposted on the Site and the “last updated” date changed. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
